Name:
Location: Pineville, KY

I'm originally from CA, consider my hometown to be Shelbyville, KY but am currently residing in Pineville, KY. I love hanging out with my kiddos and Dan, the city, the ocean, taking hiking trips in the mountains, being around my closest friends, and watching a good chick flick! More than anything though, I love praising and worshiping our Savior Jesus Christ. It is a mystery to me, why He chooses and wants to use me?!?! He is so amazing!

More Pineville Accent Adjustments...!

Although we've been here now for almost a year, I am still adjusting to the southern twang!

Normal Speech that I'm Used To - Pineville Twang:
"you guys" or "you all" is now "you ns" or just plain ol' "ns"!!
"cooking" is now "cucking"!
"took" is now "tuck"
"window" is now "winder" or "winda"

And you can bet any words with the "i" sound will be stretched out a mile long!

I'm used to referring the three meals of the day as: "Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner". In Pineville it's: "Breakfast, Dinner, and Supper" or other wise known as just "Breakfast, Deener, and Suppa" or Supp"

If someone feels really bad for you or sympathizes with you, or if someone thinks you're nuts or crazy, you're sure to hear these following words: "Bless your little heart!" Trust me, you can tell the difference between whether they sympathize with you, or if they think you're nuts!

Most the time, they think this "Northerner" is nuts!!! :) So yes, I hear the phrase "Bless your little heart" ALOT!! Oh well! :)

Awe...

The past few nights have been such nice, beautiful, wonderful nights! The temps have dropped a bit, to make it a little cooler and less humid - making it more enjoyable on campus! Last Friday we helped our dear friends load their U-Haul as they were leaving for seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. It's so sad seeing them leave, but we are excited for what God has in store for them!

Saturday, we finally hit our favorite trail again!! It's the first time we've hit the trail since last fall. Mainly because of the bear we have on campus, and I don't want to come face to face with him on any trails or walking adventures. Oh, yes, I don't think I've blogged about our visitor yet! But, yes, we have a bear on campus!! A huge - well huge to me - 6 1/2 - 7 foot tall, brown bear. He had made himself known through out different areas on campus by getting into the dumpsters, then one afternoon he decided to come up to Holly Hill and play on the playground! Thank goodness no kids were out at the time - which is rare because of it still being a bright, sunny afternoon. Then one evening he was right down the hill from our cottage climbing into our dumpster! We tried to snap some pictures from our front door, but it was too dark for any good pictures to turn out.

So anyways, it was wonderful walking our fav trail again! Then last night we walked around campus and took the kids to a playground where we ran into another family, the Smith Family, who we hadn't seen in a while. We ended up spending quite a bit of time just talking and laughing together and playing with our kiddos! It was so great! I love good fellowship!

After spending some time with the Smith Family, it was time for me to meet with Jan to begin our Bible Study. It was so wonderful! We sat out in the middle of campus in a gazebo around all the beautiful flowers and just spent time in His Word. God is using Jan in my life to teach me what a Godly wife is supposed to look like. Some of the biblical truth is really hard for me to swallow. God is teaching me many new things about myself that I never knew. It is amazing what He is unveiling to me! It's all a bit painful, but so refreshing and wonderful is it to have our Father continually molding me and shaping me into who He wants me to be!

It's just been a wonderful past few nights!

Oh. By the way! I do promise that some pics will be coming soon. Dan's laptop has crashed, so the only time I've have to work on the blog is at work - like now -shhh.. don't tell the boss! But I'm not able to download any pics while at work. Hopefully the laptop will begin working again soon. I have SO many pics to get on here!

WHOA!

We're getting ALOT done!! I love spring cleaning. Yes, call me a nut, but I am truly an annal, neat freak, organizing nut on the inside. I am my dad's daughter! ;)

Anyways, the kiddos have been gone for the week - missing them terribly, but it is so nice to be able to finally get some things done around the cottage! We've switched all the bedrooms around, which makes more room for everyone! Dan and I have taken the back "guest bedroom" and we've given the boys our old bedroom. The third room is completely empty - and we're in hopes that God will fill it with a healthy child in the near future! It was very cool as we finished up last night... Dan and I went in the empty bedroom and prayed together that God would bless our family with another baby! Very cool experience to share together as husband and wife!

Anyways! I just love being in an uncluttered home! It just makes me smile! :) I also have found some pretty nice treasures for the home! I've been on the hunt for quite some time now for a smaller desk. Well, I finally found one! And for 15 bucks on top of that!! Nothin' like a good bargin! It needs some attention to it, but once Dan is through with it, I'm sure it'll be as good as new!

I also found some really nice picture frames at a yard sale, as well as a cute little lamp, and a basket for the bathroom!

Yes, it's the little things in life that make me happy! :)

I promise I will get some pictures soon. I know I've been majorly slacking with some pics.
