Crazy Faith

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." ~Hebrews 11:1 Hey Guys! Welcome to the blog! This blog is to describe our journey on our crazy leap of faith! Get ready to join the rollercoaster ride, and see how God can take two very ordinary people and completely reshape them and mold them to completely trust in Him in ALL things!

Name:
Location: Pineville, KY

I'm originally from CA, consider my hometown to be Shelbyville, KY but am currently residing in Pineville, KY. I love hanging out with my kiddos and Dan, the city, the ocean, taking hiking trips in the mountains, being around my closest friends, and watching a good chick flick! More than anything though, I love praising and worshiping our Savior Jesus Christ. It is a mystery to me, why He chooses and wants to use me?!?! He is so amazing!

What's A Pounding?

That, is a Pounding!!

Apparently, it's a pretty common thing around here. The church reaches out and gives "A Pound" of everything! Don't laugh too hard, but when I first heard the phrase, "A Pounding" I thought literally, a pounding! It is now the new inside joke of our Sunday School class!

Here's what we got!

275 Paper Plates (individually, that is)
150 Napkins
110 Paper Cups
23 Cans of veggies
16 Rolls of tp
15 Rolls of Paper Towels
13 Cans of Soup
8 Packs of Juices
8 Cans of canned Fruit
7 bars of soap
6 Fresh Oranges
5 Cans of Vienna Sausages (I won't be eating these, but Dan says that they are great for hiking, so I am still very thankful!)
5 Boxes of Zip lock Bags
4 Cans of Chef Boyardee
4 Boxes of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Snacks
4 Boxes of Pasta
4 boxes of pudding
4 boxes of Pop Tarts
3 Bottles of Dish Soap
3 Jars of Homemade Apple Butter (Yum!)
2 Bags of Sugar
2 Boxes of Cling Wrap
2 Jugs of Laundry Detergent
2 Boxes of Cereal
2 Fresh Apples
2 Fresh Tangerines
2 Jars of Pasta Sauce
2 bags of Baking Chocolate
1 Jar of Ketchup
1 Jar of Mayo
1 Jar of Turkey Gravy
1 box of Trash Bags
1 Box of Cake Mix
1 Box of Hamburger Helper
1 Box of Kleenexes
1 Box of Fabric Softener
1 opened Tub of Lemonade! (yes, opened! But that's ok!)
some cash (I won't share the amount, but let's just say it was a HUGE blessing and never expected!)
and a handful of Hot Wheel Cars for the boys!!

Thank You Lord for providing all these supplies for us! And thank You for a church who You have called into action and who moved when You called!

Now, the only question is... Where in the world am I going to put all this?!?!

Hipp Hipp Horray!!

It's fixed! The hard drive in the laptop crashed, but we were able to get a new one and now, it's fixed! YAY! Looking forward to updating this thing. I would do it now, but I have an awful cold and really just don't feel like it right now!

A quick little update though...

3 Semesters Down, 5 To Go!!!

Dan just wrapped up his semester! This one's been a doozy! It seems like this semester particularly has been much harder on everyone. Dan will begin his next semester early with a J-Term. (A J-Term is when a full semester's class is wrapped up in just one week!) Pray for him! I know he'll do great!

Reassurance

About 6 months ago, I began to question if Clear Creek was really the place that God called us to. Did we hear Him correctly? Was this what He really wanted for our lives? During our first year here we have gone through more hardships than ever before. The struggles of trying to sell a home, tons of financial difficulties, and loosing a child to name a few. All these were extreme moments in our lives that really tested our faith and really broke our hearts. Our minds were filled with thoughts of doubts and questions.

I LOVE when He reassures us! Here's what I mean:

- We had a student account balance of almost $4,000.
- We would have had to of paid the $4,000 by December in order to continue an education at Clear Creek.
- 2 months ago, we mysteriously received a scholarship (that Dan did NOT apply for) and the account balance was taken down to about $700.00!
- Dan registered for the Spring semester.
- We need to pay about $200.00 down to begin in January.
(Each semester costs about $5200.00)
- Found out on Friday, that the $700.00 we owed has been PAID OFF!
- Also found out on Friday, that our housing expenses for the entire Spring semester has been PAID IN FULL!
- Also found out... for the Spring Semester we will only have to pay $168.00!!!! Tuition, housing, the whole thing!!!

It's as if He is saying, "I want you here." "I called you here." "Stay put." "Trust Me." "Yes, I want you here!"

Thank You Lord!!

"Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." ~Philippians 1:6
