Crazy Faith

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." ~Hebrews 11:1 Hey Guys! Welcome to the blog! This blog is to describe our journey on our crazy leap of faith! Get ready to join the rollercoaster ride, and see how God can take two very ordinary people and completely reshape them and mold them to completely trust in Him in ALL things!

Name:
Location: Pineville, KY

I'm originally from CA, consider my hometown to be Shelbyville, KY but am currently residing in Pineville, KY. I love hanging out with my kiddos and Dan, the city, the ocean, taking hiking trips in the mountains, being around my closest friends, and watching a good chick flick! More than anything though, I love praising and worshiping our Savior Jesus Christ. It is a mystery to me, why He chooses and wants to use me?!?! He is so amazing!

Baseball

Spring is in full season, which only means one thing... T-Ball season has begun! Zachary played for two years in Shelbyville, but has missed the passed two summers playing in Pineville. He is playing "machine pitch" this year for the first time! This is also Nicholas' first year playing T-Ball. Both are very "interesting" to watch.

Nicholas has been wanting to play ever since brother has played in Shelbyville. However, Nicholas isn't as fond of it as we would have hoped for. He is having a very hard time understanding that he can't just bat the whole time. He also doesn't understand that the ball doesn't come to you every time while playing in the field. Pretty much, he could care less about the sport right now. We thought he would love it. But, not so much. When the ball doesn't come to him in the field, he drops his shoulders, drops his chin and stomps off of the field! Getting him to stay on the field is a challenge in itself.

Zachary is loving the sport! However, we are not happy with his coach. AT ALL! The coach is way too competitive at this point. The kid is only 6 for crying out loud! Let him have fun. The coach only works with the experienced kids, leaving the new ones out in the cold. How will they ever learn if they are not worked with?!?! We are very frustrated by all this. Zachary sat in the dugout for the majority of his first game. :/ We didn't pay for him to not play. Plus, again, how will he learn if the coach isn't even willing to work with him. We'll end up having a talk with his coach most likely.

Anyways. I'm done venting! Tonight was both of their first games... at the exact same time, which made for an eventful night for mom and dad! One would constantly be working with Nicholas to keep him on the field and away from the bat! While the other would constantly be watching for Zachary to be out of the dugout. Zachary did finally play one inning as catcher!

We are exhausted from running back and forth between fields. My feet are swollen. My hips are killing me. And we are both just flat out pooped! The kids are cleaned up and in bed, Dan's watching the History Channel, and I'm downloading these fun pics for you to view!

Enjoy the pics!

My sweet husband is bringing me a bowl of icecream... time to stop blogging!!! :)

Easter

Easter was a wonderful weekend! We were able to go home to visit all the family! I believe it stormed the ENTIRE time we were there, which meant egg hunts were all held indoors. (By the way, when we arrived back on campus on Saturday evening before heading to Virginia, it was sunny blue skies!) Anywho! Enjoy the pics!

We were able to have the egg hunt outside before the storms hit on Friday early afternoon at Grandma's house!

Although the eggs are fun and the expressions on the kid's faces are even more fun to watch during all the hunts, I will never minimize the reason we celebrate Easter. I think my Lord for humbling Himself to become flesh, to dwell among us, only to die for us, and to gain victory over sin, death, and hell and give us new hope through His resurrection!! Thank You Lord!

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! ~ Philippians 2:8

Children's Home

Yesterday during class, Dan had an amazing experience interviewing two teenagers from the Children's Home in Barboursville. (I'll talk more about the interview in a later post.) However, in this post I have a prayer request regarding these two teens. During the interview, God led the conversation into presenting the gospel. Time was cut off, but I pray that the Holy Spirit was not. I pray that the Lord planted seeds in their hearts and minds. I know of many testimonies where one came to know Christ not at a youth conference, not during a church revival, but in the quietness of their bedroom. Alone. My deep burden and prayer for these two teenagers is that in the quietness of their rooms, the Holy Spirit will continue to speak and convict them, loudly but gently, bringing them to Christ. I pray that noise, distractions, and Satan's lies will flee from them. Please pray for these two teenagers. I don't know their names, but God does.

We're Registered!!!

Saturday, Dan, Nicholas and I spent the day in Lexington shopping while we waited on Nanny & PaPaw to meet us with Zachary! It was so fun! We started the day by registering at Babies R Us. It's amazing how much stuff someone so little needs! We would've had all these items from the boys, but right before moving to Clear Creek we sold all our baby stuff in a yard sale. Here's what we registered:

  • Crib

  • Changing Table (Praise God! We actually may be getting one from a lady at church!)

  • Pack in Play (a must have due to the trips to Virginia for church each week and the many trips to Shelbyville!)

  • Car carrier & stroller combination

  • Homemade Baby Food maker

  • Nursing supplies

  • Bottle warmer

  • Bottle cooler (for traveling)

  • Bouncing seat

We will be registering at Wal-Mart as well. Here's what we plan on registering there:

  • Crib Bedding set

  • Swing

  • medicines/creams/bathing supplies

  • diapers & wipes

  • carrier or a sling

  • bottles & pacifiers

  • diaper bag

  • bibs and burping cloths

  • high chair (we may wait on this, since we really don't need one until the baby is a few months old???)

We still have a dresser and glider for the nursery that we held on to during the move. All of this has made me extremely excited about welcoming Bryson to our family! I'm ready to begin setting his nursery up!

Planning for baby is SO FUN!

I've Not...

  • I've not had a small chocolate milkshake every day this week.

  • I've not had ice cream for breakfast at all.

  • I've not gained any excess weight due to my new craving... (We'll see at my next appointment on Wednesday!)

  • I've not stolen pillows off the kid's beds to help find some physical comfort sleeping at night - on top of the five pillows that I have not already been hoarding!

  • Dan does not sleep with a rolled up blanket under one pillow for extra cushion!

  • I didn't cry the other night watching Toy Story 3... for the 100th time!

  • I didn't burst into tears in the Mexican restaurant during our lunch break.

  • In fact, I don't cry at all. Ever.

  • I don't already need help painting my toenails, putting on socks, or shaving my legs!

  • I don't already wobble a bit at the end of a long day of training.

Nope, cravings haven't tempted me, I'm not a walking water faucet, and I don't have any trouble sleeping at night!! :)

All this said, I really do LOVE being pregnant! Each day is new and exciting - plus it's a great excuse to over indulge in ice cream and milkshakes!

Thank You Lord for a healthy, growing baby that you are forming inside my womb!
